Bloody Ads

I may just have to give in and upgrade my LJ back to a paid account. The wretched ads seem to be getting more and more lurid and intrusive. I just resent giving such a dubious company my dosh, however piffling an amount! :(

EDIT: sharpiefan has very kindly pointed out that I'm a dimwit (not her word choice, but she wouldn't be blamed for thinking it!) and all the nasty ads are now gone without any negative effect on my bank balance whatsoever - Yay!

If you can tell me that I've missed the notification telling us we can view our LJ flists from over here, and point me in the right direction, then I'd be very grateful and more than happy to ditch LJ!

As it is, my best mate's over there, and I'm not ditching her, or several of the comms I watch. A lot of those don't work as feeds (not for me anyway) because cuts get lost and I end up with huge sprawls of ficcage across my reading page, which is even more annoying than the ads! That and the fact that I cross-post, and invariably need to do a bit of LJ-relevant tweaking means that I do still spend time over there. Usually I can ignore the ads, but occasionally (as the other night) there's some ghastly, flashing, bright pink monstrosity (I'm still just talking about an ad...) that gives me a headache! I just had that momentary need to vent... *g*

...or you could just install Adblock Plus and block those monstrosities from view. :D

D'you know, I think Mozilla flashed up some message about that t'other day, only my brain had melted, and I just did a kind of "Wotsthatthen? Bleurgh!" and clicked away from it. Could have saved myself a whole minor strop!!
