Aug. 18th, 2013 19:05Realised that I've had my shop exactly four years today. Also, it's nearly a year since I bought my very own, no man to wreck the joint, just me and the cats, flat, so thought I'd stick a few pics up to see if I remember how to do it!
I took this pic of the workshop before my boss retired. Can't remember why - it's not showing anything particularly interesting!

And here's the outside, taken last week:

It's called Ragdolls, because that is what my furry flatmates are:

Living/Dining Room of flat with one of said flatmates (Willow) on the prowl:

While Willow was prowling, her brother was a-kip under the bedspread. The sharp peak to right of centre is a rear paw. Aero (he's not a chocolate bar, he's an abbreviated rock band) likes to sleep on his back:

More flat:

The kitchen is compact, but has good storage for its size:

Unfortunately, the window has to have obscured glass, because it overlooks a garden in a private road. Can't blame the owners of the house for insisting on it, though the view would be nice as they have a lovely garden with a pretty blue summerhouse. What's great about my place is that neither the living room nor bedroom are overlooked, and I can see lots of greenery from them! In my last place I was surrounded by a sea of concrete!!!
This was the living room just after moving day last year:

I lost count of how many times I rearranged the damn shelves, but it all worked out pretty well in the end:

Luckily, flat comes with loft, because there's another eight crates of books stashed up there! And, yes, there is the (currently and annoyingly) ubiquitous "feature wall" with it's dark brown faux-flocked paper, which will have to be got rid of sooner or later. Lifting up an edge shows it's hiding a bright red monstrosity, though, so it could be worse!
My dining table was a fab ebay find, but the chair seats were like sitting on slabs of granite, and were covered with a vomit inducing Cath Kidstone floral thing, so Something Had To Be Done:

Am very pleased with the new fabric: it's a Tana Lawn from Liberty:

Fluffy beasts to finish:

At the very least, we could go grab a coffee in Horsham. I don't know if there's still anything on display at the local museum, but when the 95th were still the Experimental Rifle Corps, they were in Horsham, and the museum had a special exhibition on the subject a few years back. Something we could investigate... *g* ...perhaps with a
